The HBC Interleague program is for children BORN PRIOR TO AUGUST 1, 2002 who are interested in playing soccer at a recreational level. Rather than play "In House" against ourselves, in order to foster greater competition, we register these children in leagues where they will play against other towns. While the teams will travel for half of the games, the other half of the games are played at the HBC Soccer Complex located on Old South Path in Melville. There are minimal requirements for participation and the focus is on participation and recreation rather than performance. For the FALL 2010 seaon, the Interleague program is open to all children age U9 (born before August 1, 2002) and older. Children are placed together by age however, some age groups may be combined (no more than 1 year) in order to facillitate the formation of a team. If a team for a particular age group cannot be rostered prior to the start of the season, a full refund will be given.
U9 ONLY PRE TRAVEL DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM
(for children born between August 1, 2001 and July 31, 2002)
What is the HBC U9 PRE TRAVEL Developmental Program?
The program was formed 3 years ago to as a stepping stone between the intramural and travel programs. We recognized the fact that our local children were at a competitive disadvantage when they reached this age as they began to play against teams that had been together for years. In order to close this gap, the program was born. In the years since its inception, we have produced the HBC Force, HBC Storm, HBC Apaches and the HBC Thunderbolts along with countless older inter town teams as we enter our 4th year we have refined the program and continue to look at areas in which to improve.
While we accept players in other locals into our program, it is predominantly for those who live in the local community and attend the schools located predominantly in the Half Hollow Hills, South Huntington and Huntington school districts. The goal of the program is to help foster the development of the skills and fundamental understanding of the HBC intramural player beyond what is taught in the more recreational intramural program so that our players are better able to compete at the travel level.
Everyone
who registers with the
HBC Soccer Club
is accepted into our program!
What are the options available to me?
PRE TRAVEL Developmental Program U9 unless otherwise indicated everyone who registers will be placed in the Developmental Program. The children in this group will be offered professional training twice weekly beginning sometime in late August and ending upon the completion of the season in November. The children will be taught skills and tactical fundamentals of the game based on their current ability, understanding of the game and age. In addition, all games will be coached by the same professionals who work with the children at practice.
In tact team The HBC Soccer Club will also accept an intact team. All registration paperwork for this these teams must be submitted together so the children can be identified and withdrawn from the developmental program. These teams will be responsible for their own coaching and training.
Where do we play/practice?
Our teams will be registered in the JSS league where we will compete against teams from other towns. We will travel for some of the games and the rest will be at our state of the art, natural grass soccer facility located on Old South Path in Melville. The time will vary and the schedule will not be available until just prior to the start of the season.
We will practice wherever we are able to obtain a permit but somewhere in the area. Our practice schedule will be set once we know how many players will be participating. We cannot accommodate requests for times but we do our best to make the time and location convenient for the majority of the players. The practice days and times WILL change once daylight savings time begins as we attempt to make arrangements to practice a field with lights. We will practice in the cold and we will practice in light rain. You will be notified where to find the practice and game schedule as everything will be posted on line.
What is the cost?
The cost of participation is the registration fee due to the club in the amount of $100.00. In addition, each player must purchase an HBC Travel uniform which is different than that used by our intramural program the cost of which is around $100.00 as well. Each player will be randomly assigned a uniform number along with the information on where to purchase the kit prior to the start of the season. The club does not sell the uniforms.
There are NO further fees for the FALL 2010 SEASON…
the entire cost of the training and coaching is paid for by the HBC Soccer Club
